Although working out of scope for free is one of the fastest ways to ruin for service providers, the top destroyers of service providers are once-loyal customers canceling large projects and/or no longer sending new work your way. I tie these topics together because customers will stop working with you if you consistently hit them with large change orders 1) for work already completed, 2) poorly thought through and poorly explained, 3) littered with items not related to the actual key changes, and/or 4) delivered weeks after requested (the ultimate self-own).
