100 Thoughts on Pricing (Tools): #67

One of the great benefits of an Excel based pricing tool versus web or cloud based is its cost effectiveness on multiple levels:

  • No subscriptions to pay for

  • You can build and maintain it yourself

  • You rarely have to hire programmers- all pricing people know how to with in and manipulate Excel, but not so much HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, SQL, ASP.NET, PHP, Ruby, etc.

  • When you do have to go external for support, it's typically a one-time cost instead of a long-term dependency.

  • Did I mention no subscriptions to pay for?
